#REGEX has finally come to #Excel for Beta channel consumers, to clean up complex scenarios such as extracting an email from anywhere in a cell or extracting only numbers etc. REGEX has been in #GoogleSheets for a while so my new video showcases how to use them today, even if you're not on the beta channel, and how to use #ChatGPT or #Copilot to write out the complex REGEX code for you https://lnkd.in/gjtXivkp

Excellent share David! I have been going to Google Sheets for a couple years when I want to use REGEX. And, for me personally, good luck writing the required syntax without #genai. 🤯It’s nice to see Excel getting this features!Bill Tomoff

Great new #Excel formulas can extract, replace or test text within a string like the example below. Examples include: - Whether a text string meets complex criteria such as "has a number"- Extract everything after the uppercase letter- Extract the first word split by anything non alphanumeric - Replace the first X digits with a *- Put a - between every sequence of 3 characters. REGEXEXTRACT, REGEXMATCH, REGEXTEST using the REGEX coding which is transferrable across most coding languages including #GoogleSheets for several years but now available also in Excel (but only available to Beta consumers for now). #GoogleSheets' #PivotTables are in some ways better than #Excel's. They auto-update, can do COUNTUNIQUE calcs and are easier to sort. Check them out in my newest video here: https://lnkd.in/g8EE4i2i

100s of millions are still using #VLOOKUP in #Excel, stop now! I showcase in my new video, alternatives with #XLOOKUP (which is easier and more powerful), TEXTJOIN with IF for matching with duplicates, #PowerQuery for matching based on 2 cols, different join types and matching alternative spellings, (e.g. Brasil to Brazil), and finally #PowerPivot for joining tables to analyse in #PivotTableshttps://lnkd.in/gf4UPXQ6PS: No INDEX MATCH, it's also obsolete post XLOOKUP... prove me wrong!

VLOOKUP sucks: Excel non matches, duplicates, fuzzy match ++

Extract all M code from #PowerQuery in #Excel or #PowerBI with this hack. Select all queries & copy, then paste into a text editor as shown in the gif
