All Classes

Today’s patch brings an overhaul to the Black Spirit’s Rage 200% skill for several classes.

The classes affected by this overhaul include: Awakening Warrior, Succession Ranger, Succession Sorceress, Awakening Berserker, Succession/Awakening Tamer, Succession/Awakening Valkyrie, Awakening Witch, Awakening Wizard, Succession Maehwa, Awakening Kunoichi, Succession Dark Knight, Succession Striker, Succession Mystic, Succession/Awakening Lahn, and Awakening Guardian. While we initially aimed to release these changes sooner, additional optimization was necessary to ensure the Black Spirit’s Rage 200% skill could be used more frequently and effectively in various scenarios. We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the delay.

Alongside the overhaul, we’ve also adjusted the damage output for the Black Spirit’s Rage 200% skill across all classes. In PvP, Succession Berserker, which was overwhelmingly powerful, has been nerfed. This adjustment serves as a benchmark for balancing the damage output of other classes to minimize disparities. For PvE, all classes have received a significant damage boost. Additionally, the Speed Reduction debuff during skill use has been removed, and the cooldown has been reduced from 30 minutes to 20 minutes. (But, this cooldown can be further changed according to the PVP circ*mstances after live update.) We’ve put a lot of consideration into these changes, and we hope the revamped Black Spirit’s Rage 200% skill will be more versatile and enjoyable for all adventurers.

Black Spirit’s Rage (200%)

  • All characters’ Black Spirit’s Rage (200%) skills have been adjusted as follows.
    • The damage of the Black Spirit’s Rage (200%) skills of Succession and Awakening has been adjusted.
      • The damage of main weapon skills that are not Succession or Awakening are the same as before.
    • The speed increase/decrease effect has been changed so that the movement of the Black Spirit’s Rage (200%) skill for Succession and Awakening is not applied.
    • Cooldown changed from 30 minutes to 20 minutes.

※ In the Black Desert Research Institute, for easier testing, the cooldown of the Black Spirit’s Rage (200%) skill is set to 1 minute.

Berserker

With today’s patch, Succession Berserker has been nerfed. Although we made some adjustments a few weeks ago, we missed certain aspects that resulted in Berserker being far stronger than intended.

In the previous patch, we aimed to balance Berserker by tweaking his defensive capabilities through Super Armor while reducing its overall sustainability. However, this inadvertently made Berserker more resilient than planned, and the absence of Stamina restrictions on movement skills, unlike other classes, only worsened the issue. We sincerely apologize for any frustration this may have caused to both Berserker adventurers and their opponents.

To address these concerns, today’s patch brings several adjustments. We have focused on reducing excessive freedom of movement and the unintended resilience in certain situations. Prime: Fearsome Tyrant’s DP increase effect has been changed to DP +30 for 10 seconds. Additionally, Prime: Lava Piercer and Prime: Predatory Hunt will now consume Stamina. We apologize once again for any inconvenience caused by our oversight, and we promise to swiftly address other classes that also require urgent improvements.

Black Shrine – Seoul (Party)

Black Shrine 2 (Seoul Edition) has been added to the global labs in this update.

Unlike the original Black Shrine format, Black Shrine 2 is designed as a co-op boss battle for five adventurers. Four types of bosses have been added to start with: The Blue-clad Youth, where teamwork is required to solve various trials; Uturi, who commands soybean and red bean soldiers and targets individual players with his slingshot; Jigwi, who brings a powerful fire spectacle, and the mighty Bulgasal. Some may have already experienced these bosses during quests, however they have been completely revamped for Black Shrine 2, so expect a greater challenge.

In Black Shrine 2, you can use your personal gear. Due to this, the existing Sun, Moon, and Earth auras will be utilized differently. Choosing Sun will be advantageous for quick subjugation and can be used for rankings, while Moon aura helps to ensure your survival during combat the more you use them. Lastly, the number of Earth auras you possess (by the selected adventurer) increases the number of resurrections and retries when failing to break boss mechanics. The difficulty is categorized into “Normal” with a recommended AP of 300, and “Difficult” with a recommended AP of 330. Boss mechanic difficulties has been designed to not be as challenging when compared to Elvia Atoraxxion, but understanding their mechanics will be necessary when challenging the bosses for the first time. Each of the four bosses have their own unique charm, so we hope that adventurers are able to enjoy different styles of battle with your guild members or friends.

A total of three other bosses are still being prepared, which includes Cheoyong, Dark Bonghwang, and the “Main Villain” of Seoul, and we are planning to introduce them to the official server on Sep 12. The update on Sep 12 will not only include these new bosses but will also include the global release of the Land of the Morning Light – Seoul. We appreciate your patience and anticipation. Guild League – Ranked Season

The regular season of the Guild League is about to begin.

In the previous Guild League, there were several areas that needed improvement. Thanks to the feedback from our adventurers, we were able to make gradual enhancements and successfully conclude the season. We extend our gratitude to all the guilds and adventurers who enjoyed the previous season, and we are committed to making the regular season even more enjoyable for everyone.

This regular season of Guild League comes with a few changes.
The most significant updates include changes to the matchmaking score brackets, resurrection methods, and enhanced rewards.

Previously, guilds with scores above 1,801 were all matched together,
which led to some dissatisfaction as the number of high-scoring guilds increased.
Now, the maximum score has been raised to 3,801, and the brackets beyond 1,801 have been further subdivided.

Additionally, there were instances in the previous season where players would deliberately avoid resurrecting.
To address this, the rules have been changed so that players are automatically resurrected after a certain period.

Rewards have also been significantly enhanced to make the content more meaningful for both guilds and individuals.
Notably, guilds that achieve 1st to 3rd place will receive 400 billion Silver in guild funds, along with colored titles and bonus items, to ensure they are duly honored.
While 400 billion Silver may seem substantial, it has been generously set as such before taxes to consider guild member incentives.

Moreover, new battlefields, including the area in front of Gyeongbokgung Palace (Geunjeongjeon Hall), have been added to make the experience even more enjoyable.

Oh! And during this second season of Guild League, we are also preparing a new update for the Arena of Solare.
We received feedback that the previous Arena of Solare, which lasted only a month, was too short and had room for improvement.
Based on your suggestions, we aim to further develop the Arena of Solare.

Arena of Solare was designed to help newcomers to PvP by focusing on “everyone using the same equipment” and “three-person teams for less stressful combat.”
While we will maintain this pure approach, we are also preparing to support additional modes using the Arena of Solare system.

For example, there will be an mode for those who want to purely prove their skills in 1:1 combat,
and an mode where players can compete using their personally customized equipment.
These modes will come with honorable rewards, providing new goals for more adventurers in PvP.

※ Matching can be applied by guild members who have been granted ‘Guild League Application’ permission.

※ If there are less than 7 people connected to the guild, you cannot apply for the league.

※ It is not possible to apply for or proceed with the guild league during the Node War (21:00 – 22:00), Conquest War (20:00 – 24:00), or during the War of the Roses (18:00 – end).

Victory Conditions

◆ Victory conditions: The guild with the higher score wins when 1,000 points are earned or when the game time expires .

resurrection

◆ There is one resurrection point at a designated location for each guild.
– When a character dies, the character is resurrected without a separate resurrection button, and automatically enters the battle area after a certain period of time within the tent after resurrection.
* There is no limit to the number of resurrections.
– If you are in a non-combat state upon resurrection, invincibility and damage reduction effects are applied for a certain period of time.
– Death penalties such as experience reduction and crystal destruction do not apply.

– If matching is completed and there are less than 7 guild members who entered during the waiting period, it is considered a loss, the game automatically ends, and a penalty is awarded once.
– If the number of participants in a guild is less than 4 during the guild league, it is considered a loss, the game automatically ends and a penalty is awarded.

Others

– Even if you leave during the guild league, any member of that guild can re-enter.
* However, when you leave, the amount of damage and status abnormalities recorded during the process will be reset.
Guild members who join after matching cannot enter the game in progress.
– When killing enemies in succession, the notification duration is 15 seconds.
– The durability of equipment does not decrease during the match.
– When you enter a game, you are automatically assigned to a unit, and when you leave, you are automatically withdrawn.
– If you are already a member of a party or unit, you can enter after leaving the party/unit.
– For adventurers who join a guild as a battlefield hero, the guild league menu will not be displayed and they will not be able to participate in the guild league.

AFK Penalty

  • If a match is not played for a certain period of time in a certain score section, the score is periodically deducted depending on the section.
3401 points or more If a match is not played for 5 days, 50 points are deducted every 2 days.
2601 points or more and 3400 points or less If a match is not played for 5 days, 40 points are deducted every 2 days.
2001 points or more but 2600 points or less If a match is not played for 5 days, 30 points are deducted every 2 days.

For example, if you played the last match on January 1st after reaching 2800 points and did not play a match for 5 days until January 6th, ranking points will be deducted when the score is updated on January 8th, 2 days later.

Matching system and score section

  • The Guild League matching system is as follows.

1. Matching begins sequentially starting from the high score section (group).
2. Among the guilds that applied for matching, guilds within the same score range are randomly matched in the first place.
2. Among the guilds that have applied for matching, if there is a guild within the same score range, matching will be completed with priority among those guilds.
– At this time, if there are multiple guilds within the same score range, the opposing guild for which a match is made will be randomly selected from among the guilds within that score range.
3. Among the guilds that have applied for matching, if there is no guild that can successfully match within the same score range, matching will be successful with the opposing guild in the closest score range among all ranges above and below.

Monster Changes

Today’s patch brings improvements to the Dehkia’s Lantern monster zones that were updated last week.

First, we’ve addressed common issues across the three zones where adventurers felt inconvenienced or where the zones were being used in unintended ways. For instance, in the case of Olun, adventurers had to manipulate damage output to obtain the “left arm” reward. Now, the first Olun’s Golem will not trigger the left arm attack, while subsequent golems will activate it immediately upon appearing, reducing this inconvenience. In Ash Forest, we’ve fixed the issue where monsters would chase players from too far away.

Additionally, for Dehkia tier 2 monster zones, the main item drop has been changed from Deboreka accessories to new loot such as artifacts and crystals. The potential revenue, including Silver, has been adjusted to match the high-level adventurers these zones are intended for, and we will continue to enhance this based on adventurers’ growth stages.

Originally, Dehkia tier 2 zones were designed to provide rewards through exclusive quests. However, we realized this could overly restrict gameplay freedom. Therefore, we’ve added unique loot obtainable only in these zones, instead of Deboreka accessories, and introduced powerful monsters with “rest periods” to reduce fatigue, allowing for a more balanced and enjoyable experience.

[Dehkia’s Lantern] Crescent Shrine

  • The following details in the [Dehkia’s Lantern] Crescent Shrine monster zone have been modified.
    • The issue where monsters that moved away from the Argos Obsidian Altar returned to their original positions and were intermittently invisible has been fixed.
    • The issue where the Argos Obsidian Spirit was continuously summoned when the adventurer moved away from Dehkia’s Lantern has been fixed.
    • The issue where Dehkia’s lantern can be used was not displayed when hovering over the ‘#Fix Dehkia’s Lantern summon location’ tag in the hunting ground information UI has been fixed.

[Dehkia’s Lantern II ] Olun’s Valley

  • The following items in the [Dehkia’s Lantern II ] Olun’s Valley monster zone have been improved and corrected.
    • The title <Void> has been added to Colossus of Olun.
    • The Colossus of Olun, which first appeared using the Lantern of Dehkia, has been changed to not attack by slashing its left arm.
    • The Colossus of Olun, which appears the second time using Dehkia’s Lantern, has been improved to appear starting with an attack that slashes its left arm.
    • The issue where some of the attack ranges of the Colossus of Olun were displayed wider than the actual range has been fixed.

  • During the attack of Varnas, which appears in the [Dehkia’s Lantern II ] Ash Forest monster zone, the speed reduction debuff effect has been removed.
  • The aggro and pursuit range of monsters that appear in the [Dehkia’s Lantern I/II ] Ash Forest monster zone has been reduced by 50% compared to before.

Item Changes

  • The icon of the item ‘Token of the Encroached Crescent Moon’, a trophy from the Crescent Moon Temple [Decia’s Lantern] hunting ground, has been changed.
  • In the description of the Blood Oath item, the phrase about permission to use the guild warehouse has been changed to ‘authorized guild member’.
  • [Guild] The description of where to obtain Treant-made Treant wood items has been modified.
  • In the description of the Twilight Gem item, some text regarding how to make the Lord Weapon has been improved.

After enjoying all the content in the Land of the Morning Light, take your time to check out the exploration points in Seoul.

  • After completing all the main quests in Seoul, the Land of the Morning, a series of quests have been added called ‘Travel to Seoul, the Land of the Morning with Rulupee’ to explore various parts of Seoul with Rulupee.
    • This request is a one-time request per family, and can be checked by a character of level 56 or higher in the Black Spirit (/) – Request (A) – Event Request tab.
      • In order to proceed with this quest, you must complete all main quests of ‘[Wanderer’s Tale] Dawn Dispelling the Darkness’.
    • By completing this quest, you can obtain a large amount of contribution experience points and knowledge in the ‘Rulupee’s Morning Land Seoul Travel’ category.
    • If you complete all quests, you can obtain the special title <Long live the land of the morning>.

UI Changes

  • An emphasis effect has been added to the posture change icon when a fishing rod or harpoon is equipped.
    • The highlight effect disappears when you close the equipment window.

‘The Clan system was developed during the early days of Black Desert when gathering the 100,000 Silver required to create a guild was burdensome. It served as a smaller group with limited guild functionalities. However, since the financial burden for creating a guild is no longer an issue, the clan system has become unnecessary. To avoid confusion between the two systems, we have disabled the ability to create new clans.

  • It has been changed so that clans can no longer be created.
    • Approximately one month after the update to the official server, already created clans will be converted to guilds, so we ask clan leader adventurers to take note of this and use functions such as guild promotion.
  • When the karma value is less than 0, the color change in the character name has been modified to make it easier to recognize.
    • From a karma value of less than 0 to -1,000,000, the color of the character name has been changed to gradually become red.
    • From -1,000,000, it is displayed in red as before.

Bug Fixes

  • The issue where stairs were displayed abnormally when entering placement mode from outside Hyeonrokdang has been fixed.
  • The issue of occasionally falling into the water when passing a bridge near Godu Village through automatic movement while riding a vehicle has been fixed.
  • The issue where the set team name was not displayed properly when participating as a spectator in Arsha’s Window has been fixed.
  • The issue where the quest ‘[Changguijeon]’ was not possible due to the disappearance of Choi Jinsa, who is required to proceed with the quest while the quest ‘Visit to Jinsa Choi’s house’ was in progress, has been fixed.
  • The issue where the accommodation icon in the residence information on the world map (M) was displayed the same as the residence has been fixed.
  • The issue where Kunga’s appearance became smaller when the character collided with NPC Kunga has been fixed.
  • Atoraxion: The phenomenon of Apocross appearing and progressing abnormally while looking at Sika during Sikarakia has been fixed.
  • During the quest ‘[Temple of the Three Gods] Endless Conflict’, the issue where some UI looked unnatural after viewing the illustration of ‘[Story] Goddess of Love’ has been fixed.
  • The locations of the following characters in the Land of Morning have been modified to make them more natural.
    • Seunghee Han, Arang, Yojin, Uturi
  • The issue where the name of the manor was displayed unnaturally on the world map (M) has been fixed.
  • <Yejo Noksa> A typo in the first conversation with Gapdori has been corrected.
  • A typo in NPC Momellies’ dialogue during the ‘Treasury of Knowledge’ quest has been corrected.
  • A typo in the description of the propensity value has been corrected.
  • During the Wuturi match, unnatural objects were removed from the Musinje Stadium.
  • Invisible objects have been removed from the Godou Brewery area.
  • During the tutorial battle, invisible monsters were removed from a specific location.
  • The issue where characters collided in certain empty spaces in some areas, such as Mt. Ashish, Land of Morning, and Beombawi Gate, has been fixed.
  • The issue where a stone beak blocked the progress path during the Magnus ‘Where the Dragon Sleeps’ quest has been corrected.
