Salary: $109,091 - $136,364 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)

The Director of Interventional Radiology and Patient Flow for the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) provides operational leadership that fosters quality patient care delivery and effective resource management. This role is accountable and responsible for clinical and administrative functions, as well as patient care delivery within medical imaging for the University Health Network, Mount Sinai Hospital, and Women’s College Hospital. The Director is an integral part of the operational program leadership.

Duties:

Planning and Operational Leadership

  • Maintains responsibility for the effective and efficient operational management of specified departments within the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (University Health Network, Mount Sinai Hospital, Women’s College Hospital)
  • Provide leadership for clinical operations in a shared governance model across different hospital corporations
  • Takes a committed lead to create and promote a vision and culture of excellence
  • Ensures the development of corporate policies and procedures for the effective operations of the medical imaging department across the JDMI.

People & Culture Management

  • Manages department human resources, in consultation with assigned P&C repsand Senior/Executive Director, within JDMI at UHN, MSH, WCH
  • Provides leadership to management of human resources of all technologists, nursing, administrative and other clinical support staff at UHN, MSH and WCH through the clinical management leadership structure
  • Demonstrates a leadership style which is creative, interdisciplinary and collaborative; and builds a culture of caring through an environment of empowerment, respect and collaboration

Financial and Asset Management

  • Manages medical imaging financial resources for specified portfolio within the Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI)
  • Leads and manages the annual operating budget processes for the specified modalities and operations within the JDMI Department

Quality Improvement, Research and Innovation

  • Manages the development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provides leadership support of a Quality Strategic Plan that drives the improvement of patient care processes, overall image quality and accuracy/timeliness of diagnostic report and/or outcomes
  • Influence and support JDMI’s research and innovation strategies through IT, research, education and clinical change management

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Masters Degree in Business or Health Care Administration or recognized equivalent
  • Over 8 years of practical and related experience
  • Member of the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (preferred)
  • Excellent leadership abilities and in-depth knowledge of business process
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving-skills
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
